Because I appreciate what Shane Battier did at Duke and Michael Lewis is a great feature writer. This NY Times Magazine piece that ran over the weekend is not just an exploration in Battier's rise from middle school prodigy to unwavering NBA forward, it sheds light on the value Houston Rockets brass place on him despite Battier's average statistics.
Says Rockets GM Daryl Morey: "Someone created the box score, and he should be shot.”
