We're Dancing: Boston College Eagles

Bc-beats-unc_medium

Location: Chestnut Hill, MA

Enrollment: 14,395

Record: 22-11 (9-7)

Leading Scorers: Tyrese Rice (17.1 ppg), Joe Trapani (13.5 ppg), Rakim Sanders (13.0 ppg)

What to know:

  • Upon first look you may wonder why a team that is only 22-11 snagged a #7 seed, but these Eagles earned it by being giant kllers.  The Boston College Eagles have had a knack for rising to the occassion and beating the best.  They've tallied wins in Chapel Hill versus the UNC Tar Heels and at home on the Duke Blue Devils.
  • These Eagles can fill the box score from long range, having five different players that shoot over 33 percent from three point land.
  • Boston College has made it to the Sweet 16 in four of the last six seasons.

Projected Performance:  The Eagles got a tough card when they drew the Pac 10 Champions, USC Trojans.  If they can squeak by the Trojans they will face a tough and tournament ready Michigan State Spartans.  A darkhorse to make the Sweet 16 but don't say we didn't warn you.
