Coming in 2010: Syracuse's "Melo" V2.0

Fab_melo_medium

When Jim Boeheim cut down the nets for his first National Championship in 2003, he was probably wondering if or when he would ever be able to do so again.  He undoubtedly also questioned whether he would find another Frosh Phenom like Carmelo  Anthony to lead the charge.

Star-divide

Six years later, Big Nosed Boeheim may have signed a replica with a few more inches.  Now the only question is if Jimmy B used the "create a player" feature in an EA Sports video game and glorified the name of the his previous golden boy.  Introducing Fab(ulous?) Melo; a 7 foot, 267 lb center with a jumper that can extend beyond the arc.  All kidding aside, Syracuse received commitment from Fabricio de Melo on Tuesday, according to his high school coach.  Melo is a Brazilian born ball player brought to Florida last year for some good old American scholastic round ball.  Melo had to sit out last year due to Florida state regulation, but he will be good to go for his senior year at Sagemont High School.  The addition of Fab Melo now gives Boeheim some bragging rights when bolstering about who has the best recruiting class of 2010.  Boeheim already has three premier commits.

Scout.com has Fab Melo rated in the Top 25 for the class of 2010, but some lists rank him as high as #5.  As the AAU games amount and he hits the hardwood in Florida this winter his stock should climb.  This video won't hurt either...
