It's a Big East/Big 12 mash-up on ESPN's Big Monday and we've got all your picks here on SFBE.
Villanova @ Connecticut(-1.5):Take Villanova- Overshadowed by Corey Fisher and the Wildcats' furious comeback on Saturday were two things. Villanova's rebounding ability and a huge game out of Maalik Wayns. Wayns, Fisher, and Corey Stokes form a 3-pronged guard attack that's among the best in the nation. They will be too much for poor Kemba Walker, who has about as much help as Allen Iverson in the 2001 NBA Finals. Nova wins on the road.
Kansas State @ Missouri(-5.5):Take Missouri- Missouri is led by Marcus Denmon and his 17PPG, but he has plenty of help. Seven players average over 7PPG for the fifth highest scoring team in the nation. The TIgers desperately need this win after a 1-2 start in Big 12 play. Without Denis Clemente, this Kansas State team lacks consistent scoring to complement Jacob Pullen and will have trouble keeping up with Missouri's pace.
Syracuse @ Pittsburgh(-4.5):Take Pittsburgh- Pittsburgh is virtually unbeatable at home, and covering this spread just got easier when star forward Kris Joseph was ruled inactive for tonight's game. Statistically, the Panthers are the top passing team and second best rebounding team in the nation. We'll see just how accurate those stats are against the Orange 2-3 zone and glass-cleaner Rick Jackson.
Kansas @ Baylor(+3.5): Take Kansas- LaceDarius Dunn's FG% in Baylor's four losses: 30%,33%, 31%, 42%. Dunn always gets his points, but sometimes at the expense of getting Quincy Acy and Perry Jones involved. The undefeated Jayhawks have shown they can win close games on the road, at home and in the Garden. They won't be phased by a raucous crowd in Waco.
