I understand blocking a player's transfer to particular schools because of geography or league affiliation. It's analogous to businesses implementing a non-compete clause in an employee's contract. You want to protect your investment and not let one of our own flourish with a direct competitor. But for Ryan to go out of his way to prevent Uthoff from even engaging in preliminary discussions with ACC schools and Iowa State is just flat out mean, and it would be nice if Ryan or the University of Wisconsin issue a statement on the matter.

It's easy to throw this type of story around on a message board, sure. But if Shabazz Muhammad does commit to UCLA, a few UK fans who called BS on DoctorBarry44's story will have some crow to eat by the end of the week.

The talent level of prep basketball north of the border has really improved in the past 10-15 years. Now, the country might have produced it's first can't-miss precocious star. Meet Andrew Wiggins, who may be the one to force scouting services and recruitniks to rename all those top 100 lists to "In North America" and not just "In the Country". He's only a sophomore, but the sky appears to be the limit for this kid.
