West Virginia @ Louisville(-6.5):Take Louisville- A Mountaineer basketball team in turmoil will struggle tonight as they visit in one of the loudest arenas in the Big East. In the last week, West Virginia has seen a bench player up and leave the bench, and their top scorer Casey Mitchell was just suspended. Louisville has had a solid start to conference play, including three wins at the KFC Yum! Center. They're led by streaky shooter Preston Knowles and his 15.1PPG. Louisville as a team scores 80PPG, and its hard to imagine an offensively shorthanded WVU team will hang with them.
North Carolina @ Miami(+1):Take Miami- Just when we thought UNC had turned the corner and was ready to jump into the top 25, they lost by twenty at Georgia Tech. It's clear the Tar Heels struggle on the road, and while Miami has struggled of late, they have the pieces to knock of Carolina. Outside scoring threats Malcom Grant and Durand Scott combine for 29PPG and forward Reggie Johnson averages close to a double-double. Miami holds court in South Florida.
San Diego State @ BYU(-5):Take SDSU- The question here was whether to take the 5th best scoring team in the nation at home, or go with the stingy defense of an athletic SDSU team holding opponents to 58.9 PPG. Jimmer Fredette (41%), Jackson Emery (40%), and Noah Hartsock (60%) are all lethal from 3-point range, but the Aztecs will get out and defend the 3 like they have all year (opponents: 32%). It's hard to pick a winner here, but SDSU defense will keep the Cougars from running away from teams like they have so often this year. Over 20 NBA scouts will be on site to see Kawhi Leonard and Fredette in what is undoubtedly the most highly anticipated Mountain West Conference game ever.
