It's been an embarrassing start to UCLA's season...today, it got worse.
En route to LAX this morning to catch a flight to Hawaii for this week's Maui Invitational, the Bruins arrived at the airport sans their leading returning scorer, forward Reeves Nelson. The junior, who sat out his teams's first two games this season for missing a team meeting, inexplicably missed this morning's team bus, forcing head coach Ben Howland speak on his behalf.
"He understands it doesn’t look good," Howland told the Los Angeles Times. ""He needs to be the guy he needs to be for the team."
The slip-up immediately reminded us of a classic Dumb and Dumber scene.
UCLA opens the Maui tonight against host Chaminade. Nelson is expected to be suited up, but he'll probably look a little flush in the face after yet another off-court mistake.
