College Basketball Vegas Odds and Picks: December 21st

Sports-betting1My picks went 0-5 last time (although I made up two of those lines myself so make of that what you will) moving me to 36-32 on the season. Let's get right!

This hasn't been the best week for competitive matchups so I've taken a backseat from making picks, especially considering the time I needed to nurse my ego after laying a goose egg. Tonight, though, I like all five of these matchups and think they'll tell us a lot about each team involved. Take a look at my picks and be sure to tell me why I'm dead wrong in the Comments below.

7:00pm ESPN2: Texas (+12) @ No. 6 North Carolina

The Heels are better in every facet, but the Longhorns are just barely outside the Top 25 and always pose a threat in Chapel Hill so I'm betting on a tight one.

6:00pm: Fresno State @ Arizona State (-6)

The Bulldogs' offensive inefficiencies are too much to overcome and their losing streak grows to five, while the Sun Devils get right after two ugly losses.

7:00pm: Seton Hall @ Dayton (-4)

I like what Seton Hall has done this season but it worries me that this is their first road game of the season (shouldn't every team have at LEAST three by now?). Flyers turn an early battle into a comfy win, their fourth straight that began with a 12-point upset of No. 15 Alabama.

7:00pm ESPN3: UNC-Wilmington @ Wake Forest (-6.5)

Wake Forest has proven that they will absolutely fold like the world's worst poker player when they're matched up against anything even remotely resembling a good team, but they should be able to put away a poor Seahawks squad rather easily.

9:00pm ESPN2: Oklahoma State (+8) @ Alabama

Even though Alabama is far more talented, their three losses in the last four games worries me. The Cowboys have lost four games to teams with a combined 36-7 record so they're no stranger to quality opponents. This one stays close.
