Today's College Basketball Picks

Butler @ Cleveland State(-3.5): Take Butler - The Bulldogs have lost three straight, the Vikings have won their last 16 home games. Seems strange we're going with Brad Stevens here, no? Well with an at large bid completely out of the picture, Butler will welcome today's adversity (Ronald Nored may be out, it's "Butler Blackout Day" at the Wolstein Center) and eek out a win here - or just not lose by more than four points.

St John's @ UCLA(-4): Take St. John's - Sure, this game is being played at Pauley Pavilion, but just what sort of home court advantage is this when tip-off is at 10am PST? The Bruins are 0-2 against non-Pac 10 BCS conference teams this season, and Steve Lavin has been salivating over this opportunity to stick it to the program that shunned him. The Johnnies responded well following their upset of Duke, slipping past Rutgers, and a win today puts them in position to secure an NCAA Tournament bid.

Kansas @ Nebraska(+6.5): Take Nebraska - Undefeated at home, the Cornhuskers are not going to let this game get away from them. Sitting at 3-4 in the Big 12 with only one victory against the RPI top 50, today is an opportunity to move a bit past the bubble and really start thinking about hearing their named called on Selection Sunday. That's not to say that Bill Self's publicly imploring freshman Josh Selby to be more assertive may change the complexion of this Jayhawk team and help them get a win in Lincoln, but there's a lot at stake for Doc Sadler's team. Nebraska is one of the best defensive teams in the nation. If they rebound and keep a slow pace of game, they'll cover this spread.

Overall: 35-31-1
